“Casting the Net”

We are fishers of men and we cast the nets in the most teeming grounds—the campuses. And not only is the Lord opening the way in the college campuses. Campus Life is also reaching out to junior high schoolers. Last July 3, 2015, the team went to Princeton Science School in Batangas City to conduct a gospel seminar to 170 Grade 8 and Grade 9 students. With the help of six young teachers and one in the faculty of the said campus, five serving ones from the Full-time Training in Malabon plus four local saints, we conducted a whole-day seminar for these fresh and vital students.

We delivered two topics, namely, “Study Hard vs. Study Smart” which is on developing good study habits, and “God, Education, and Character” to point out to them three things that matters most to students. After every speaking, the students were given the chance to flow out their enjoyment through free sharing.

In the afternoon was the workshop activity where they are tasked to present ingenuously the song that we taught them, “Oh how sweet it is just to know my Christ,” present their posters, and respond on what they learned that day. Everyone participated actively and enjoyed all the presentations. The coordinating saints provided snacks afterwards while the team distributed response forms for the participating students. One hundred fifty-six students filled out the forms, 139 are open to future seminars, and 46 are open to Bible-studies. Praise the Lord! Here are some of their testimonies:
"Put God first and your life will be successful. Thank you, Campus Life, for making me realize how blessed I am to be in this position and how important God is in our lives."
Heart Rertoris, Grade 8

"You need to set a goal. The top three priorities should be God, education, and character. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to learn about the things that we might not have learned without you."
Aaron Joseph Maramot, Grade 8

"God is here for us every day. We should study well and love God."
Shienalyn Ferry, Grade 8

"I learned about God and studying. You made my day happy. Please come back here again for another seminar."
Diego Eyrold Von Mendoza, Grade 8

"We must have God, education, and character, and we must consider how we should study. Your program is really good and your message is clear to us. Continue to reach other students because they need you and you could give them the answers to their problems."
Princess Juleanne Aguila, Grade 9

"God is the center of everything. Thank you so much. It was so fun. We wish to meet again. Keep making people believe in God."
Kim Julianne Dolor, Grade 9

"Without God, life is nothing. Thank you for visiting us. I wish you will come back soon and teach us more for our better future."
Justine Leinhard Culla, Grade 9

"Without God, even if you have education and character, they will be useless. I hope to see you next time. You're the best, Campus Life!"
Deane Jamella Beraña, Grade 9
