Campus Meeting - A Meeting of our own (1)

Young people, may you love the meetings- not just the large gatherings of the church but also the group meetings with just a small number of brothers and sisters. It would be very good for those studying in the same school or in nearby schools to come together during the week to fan one another into flame (2 Tim. 1:6). As pieces of coal burn continuously when lumped together and die out when scattered, so it is with us believers. We have the Lord's life in us and we should "burn" one another. If we desire to love the Lord, to overcome the worldly current, and to bring our friends to salvation, it will be easier when we are with our brothers and sisters.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 plainly says, "And while a man may prevail against the one, the two will withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken." With whom should students be bound together? Is it not most practical to be with those in the same campus or at least in the same area? This way they can come together even everyday. The gathering need not be too long if it is agreed upon to do so daily. Moreover, there is actually no set way to do it. Maybe just five minutes to check on each other's progress in Bible-reading or inviting friends for the gospel. Or perhaps eight or ten minutes to see how each other is doing and pray for one another. To read some Bible verses together and pray over them for ten or fifteen minutes is also quite good. If it is not possible to do so everyday, maybe thrice a week or twice a week or at the very least once a week. At any rate, it is for mutual encouragement for growth in the spiritual life.

The important thing is to regard the meeting as your own. It really is yours. Hebrews 10:25 says, "Not abandoning our own assembling together, as the custom with some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more as you see the day drawing near." We deeply hope that more young people will experience the riches and receive the benefit of having a meeting of your own.
